On our second trip to New Orleans this year I wanted to stay closer to Bourbon Street. We walked our legs off the last time we visited New Orleans. I found the Hotel St Marie and it’s one Block off Bourbon Street. Perfect. It was very easy to find and there is a parking garage. So when you go to check in you don’t have to worry about trying to find parking on the street. We paid for parking through the hotel. Once we handed off the keys we never needed them again. It was great to be able to slip back to the room to rest.
We stayed in room 223. It was huge and had a courtyard balcony. This was the best location we have found so far.
The hotel wraps completely around the courtyard. Our balcony is one of the small ones on the right in the picture. A larger balcony would have been the only thing that would have made our stay even better.
Vacherie is the restaurant in the Hotel. It’s so good that the locals eat there.
We were very pleased with the Hotel St Marie. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The location can’t be beat. We will be staying here again.
On our last trip to Las Vegas I collected $1 Chips from each Casino that we visited. When we got home I bought a Shadow Box and a Black and White Poster of Las Vegas. I also printed out one of the Pictures of us that I felt like showcased when and where we were.
Elvis, Las Vegas Sign, and Christmas Tree. You guessed it, Las Vegas in December. There is even a Christmas ornament that has the year on it.
I now have a work of Art to hang in my house and a pretty cool conversation piece.
I was digging in a box and came across some post cards from my 2002 trip to Las Vegas. I thought I’d share. Some of these hotels are still there and sadly some are gone.
Las Vegas Strip.
I love the FREE entertainment you can find in Vegas.
When we booked the Riviera we had no clue how far down the strip it was. We almost walked our legs off.
Gondola Rides at the Venetian. When you can’t make it to Venice it’s the next best thing.
We rode the roller-coaster on the top of New York New York.
Knights in Shining Armor at Excalibur.
Pink and Lenny Kravitz in concert at Mandalay Bay August 2002.
The Bellagio Gardens are beautiful any time of the year.
I can not tell a Story. We didn’t go in the Monte Carlo. I’m sure it was grand.
Stardust 1958-2006 The last day of operation was November 1st, 2006. I was in Jamaica getting married on the same day.
Luxor. The grand pyramids of Egypt.
This trip holds a lot of meaning for me. I hope you enjoy my walk down memory lane.
November 22nd is Go For a Ride Day. It doesn’t matter how you get there or where you go. Hop in your car, turn the radio up and drive. Get on your bike and travel a new path. Wherever you chose to go or however you chose to get there enjoy the ride. Here are a few rides I have enjoyed.
