Nassau, Bahamas

We went to Nassau, Bahamas at the end of April beginning of May 2009. Nassau is located on New Providence Island. We stayed at Breezes All-Inclusive Resort. It is only about ten minutes from the airport major plus.

I have discovered that we might as well not count our first and last day of vacation when traveling to another country. I thought I was being smart on this trip and booked a 6am flight. We got to the resort with plenty of daylight left. We were welcomed in the lobby with drinks and shown to our room. The first thing we did was check out the hotel. The beach was beautiful and the water was turquoise blue. White sand and blue water is always a welcome site.

We walked down the beach as far as we could go. The resort it ended with happened to have a casino in it. My husband was pleased to see this. He likes to play the slot machines. He hit the dollar slots and I hit the penny slots. After he turned a twenty into a hundred we ventured on. Instead of backtracking down the beach we went out to the road and walked back. On the other side of the street was a small market. We love to shop for souvenirs made from the locations we travel to. There was an abundant supply here. Since this was our first day we decided to wait before we bought. The middle of the road was full of beautiful flowers and plants. Everything is perfectly groomed.

By the time we made it back to the hotel we were wore out. We decided to take a little nap that turned into us almost missing dinner. Our first meal in the Bahamas was the last of the buffet. I was so hungry that I didn’t even care at that point. Food and off to bed. I love to sleep with the windows open, feeling  the ocean breeze blowing and being lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves. Perfect.
